Chief Financial Officer

Edward Tearman, CPA, is the Chief Financial Officer overseeing the company’s accounting, treasury, tax, risk management and human resource functions.

Before joining McAllen Properties, Ed was the Chief Financial Officer at SouthComm, Inc. with duties similar to his current role. Prior to that, he spent 5 years with Cygnus Business Media, Inc. (Cygnus) as its Vice President –Corporate Controller. SouthComm purchased assets from Cygnus in late 2014, combining them with existing operations. While at Cygnus he led the transformation of the Company’s accounting and reporting functions significantly improving accuracy, relevance and timing of its reporting while reducing staff size.

Prior to Cygnus, Ed spent 9 years at ABC Supply Company, Inc., a $6 billion wholesale supplier of exterior building products in the United States, as its Corporate Controller. During his tenure at ABC, he oversaw nearly 700% growth of the Company’s revenues primarily through acquisitions. He was responsible for maintaining internal controls and integrating the acquired operations during this period.

Ed served as a corporate accounting manager and bulk division controller, turning around his division out of losses and into profits at Schneider National, Inc. the largest truckload carrier in North America.

In addition, Ed has worked in the insurance industry and public accounting in various financial capacities.
